Zakat on children's wealth:
Hanafi position:
A minor's monetary wealth (cash, gold, silver, savings) is NOT subject to Zakat. Zakat becomes obligatory only once the child reaches puberty and a full lunar year passes on wealth above Nisab.
(Note: Some other schools hold that a minor's wealth IS zakatable this app follows the Hanafi position.)
Still applies to a minor:
- Ushr on agricultural produce from their land
- Sadaqat al-Fitr (paid by the guardian)
Guardians should begin calculating Zakat once the child reaches puberty.
For your specific situation, please consult a qualified scholar or your local mosque.
And Allah knows best.
